SWBAT define, name, and notate points, lines, rays, opposite rays, segments, and planes.
Why can figures have more than one name?
Lines and planes are made up of many points. You can choose any two points on a line and any three or more noncollinear points in a plane for the name.
Segment Addition Postulate
In geometry, the Segment Addition Postulate states that given 2 points, A and C, the third point, B, lies on the Segment AC, if and only if the distances between the points satisfy the equation AB + BC = AC. The segment addition postulate is often used to prove results on the congruence of segments.
SWBAT determine the relationship between the three undefined terms in Geometry relating to postulates
Points, Lines, and Planes
Points, lines, and planes are the three undefined terms in Euclidean Geometry: Two planes intersect in a line, two lines at a point, a plane and line not on the plane intersect at a point.
Life without Geometry is ..... pointless 😂😂 |
